My story

Hi, my name is Vincent DeVito. Thank you for your interest in my debut novel!

It feels as though I've been writing Where the Crane Lands for most of my life. It actually started 15 years ago as a picture book. I spent a fair amount of time writing the beginning and the end, but couldn't quite figure out what to do with the crucial middle pages. After several bouts of writer's block, I decided to shelve the project.

Years later, I decided to take up screenwriting as a hobby. It was around this time that I visited a wildlife rehabilitation clinic and met quite a few animals that I instantly knew would make GREAT characters in a story. That's when it hit me, I would re-write Where the Crane Lands as a movie. Fast forward a year (and many, many drafts) later, and I still felt like the story was incomplete. It was missing something.

That's when I realized I needed to write out the full story, not just the parts that could fit into an hour and a half movie. It had to be a book. The only problem was that I had no idea how to write a book. So I found an awesome editor (thank you The Bookish Fox) who could help me through the process and make it an official book.

So, here we are, 15 years later, I finally told my story and I can't wait for everyone to read it!
